WOYWW? - chaos

When I looked at the images I felt I should try to explain (justify?) the chaos...

My actual workspace is not too bad:

I'm applique/embroidering a cushion for my neighbour for her birthday.

Only the thing is that is NOT my desk... it's a coffee table, I could tell you I am working there because I live in an unconverted barn whilst restoring our breton ruins into habitable homes

It looks pretty here but there are actually no doors windows , the ones you can see fall out if you breathe on them...We have also replaced the roof (and a few A frames).....I hanker for a floor ....

I could also tell you, because we are on dirt floors and single thickness sparsely mortared walls, I need to work in close proximity to our wood burner.

If those were my claims I would be lying, the coffee table is todays workspace quite simply because, in getting out what I needed to make the cushion (fabric floss buttons etc), I totally trashed all the other workspaces

...and I couldn't just put away one set of stuff to get out the other because on Friday I will be wanderlusting  then returning to the sewing...

My main problem today is:

where to put my coffee...

Chaotic...

it's a wonder I manage to produce anything eh?

  4. Great journal pages Donna.
Yes, it does look idyllic but I can imagine how much work there is to do. A friend of ours bought a place in the Charente Region and spent a long long time doing it up. They got one bit habitable and then moved across but what a wonderful life they have now spending time in France and time over here in the UK with family.

  5. Hi Donna, lovely to see pics of your home. It does indeed look idyllic, but I think with these lovely old properties, the word 'character' actually means' lots of hard work'! Not too bad to clean up in my room, it has laminate floor, so a quick sweep gets it all. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 XxX

  8. Sometimes our work spaces vary depending on the project at hound and at other times due to our own level of comfort. The restoration project looks like a huge undertaking, but will be wonderful when completed.

  13. Nice house, I think this is going to be brilliant when completed. We have friends who lived with earth floors and no staircase for ages but the house is lovely now so I know it will be worth it. Have a great woyww, Angela x 19

  14. That sounds a lot of hard work to restore that beautiful old building, Donna! I can well imagine you must be cold and need to huddle up against the wood burner! Thank you for your kind words about my embroidery, and I have to say I love the look of yours, too - we obviously share a love of bright colours! I'd love to see some close-ups of what you are doing. I think you are right - mixed media textiles just about covers everything lol! Textile art in all its forms is so versatile and fun - I need to do more!

    Happy WOYWW,

  16. Wow, what a big renovation project you have taken on! I bet it will be fabulous, eventually. Your Wanderlust page is lovely. I had no idea I had used similar colour schemes on both those Wanderlust projects until you pointed it out! :)

  17. Your art space is certainly very cozy! It must be absolutely freezing in there without proper insulation! Good luck with your renovation project - sounds like a big job! Thanks for visiting yesterday! Happy belated WOYWW zsuzsa #21

    1. it rarely drops to zero. but when the wind blows it is cold. We are south morbihan and enjoy a micro climate similar to the south of france (but with lots of rain and humidity too!) That said the phone said minus 2 this morning which came as a bit os a shock...
